Artists in School

Artists in Schools Program

"The buzz at the end of the day gave total credit to
Michael Futcher's workshop, inspiring us to turn our last
performance into something that will be remembered
for many years to come."

- Ashleigh Smith, Student, Redeemer Lutheran College

Queensland Theatre Company can coordinate professional artist residencies at your school. Learning from a professional artist can enrich students’ understanding of theatre, provide industry perspectives to units and also provide teacher professional development.

Artist residencies can run anywhere between two hours and several weeks. This is an extremely flexible program, developed to suit your schools needs.

Examples of Artists in Schools in 2009 include:

  • Director Michael Futcher provided a one day workshop in Eclectic Theatre at Emmanuel College
  • Actor Francesca Savige worked with students at Parkridge SHS over several weeks to devise a new play
  • Actor Kevin Spink facilitated a one day workshop in physical theatre at Oakey SHS

Up to 2 hours $200 – $400

Full Day $600 – $900
Full Week $2000 – $2500
