Directing
This workshop will provide teachers with an opportunity to refresh and enhance their directing skills with a Queensland Theatre Company director. The session will cover techniques for preparing a text, developing a visual style and approaches to working with professional and non-professional actors. All participants will complete short directing exercises and receive supportive feedback from the group.

Cinematic Theatre
3 Day Workshop with Markwell Presents:
Working with Brad Jennings and Steven Maxwell from Markwell Presents, participants will explore the potential of integrating Cinematic Theatre techniques into classroom and school programs. Over the three days, participants will develop a short cinematic theatre project using a text or performance concept utilising cameras, editing equipment and projectors. The process of creating a short piece will help ensure greater understanding of how media can be used efficiently and effectively in the staging of devised work and established texts.

- Cinematic theatre creative rationale and conventions
- Play-building and response to pretext
- Cinematic design - incorporating elements of projection
- Filming and post-production
- Integration of projection into performance
- Timing and sequencing DVD for performance
