Theatre Residency Week (2009)

talents and dreams."

This one week drama camp in the September school holidays is for students interested in further developing their interest in acting. Up to 100 students from around the State will live on-site at St Margaret's Anglican Girls School and spend the week working with professional actors from Queensland Theatre Company.

Workshops and activities include:

  • Acting
  • Physical theatre
  • Shakespeare
  • Fight choreography
  • Clowning
  • Theatre games and performance nights
  • Tickets to Betrayal
  • Tickets to the Young Playwrights Program
  • A final performance night for family and friends

Suitable
Years 9 – 12

Dates
Commences: 3.00pm Sunday 19 September
Finishes: 9.00am Saturday 25 September

Cost
$595 (includes all meals, accommodation, workshops and tickets)

Application Closing Date
Friday 25 June (last day of term 2)

Payment
A deposit of $100 is due with your application.
Final payment of the additional $495 is due by Friday 30 July

Queensland Theatre Company coordinates three scholarships for Theatre Residency Week.

Artistic Director’s Indigenous Scholarship

Who Aboriginal or Torres Straight Island student currently residing in Queensland
Details Covers the full fee and travel costs for Theatre Residency Week

Regional Program Scholarship

Who For a student in Year 12 who lives at least 200 km from Brisbane
Details Covers the full fee and travel costs for Theatre Residency Week

Alan Edwards Scholarship

Who For a student in Year 12 who lives at least 200 km from Brisbane
Details Covers the full fee for Theatre Residency Week

Important for all Scholarships

  1. All scholarship applications close on Friday 25 June.
  2. Send us either a script you have written or example of your work as a performer on DVD or Mini-DV.
  3. If you are eligible for more than one of the scholarships, please tick the appropriate boxes on the application form. You will be considered for all relevant scholarship areas but only need to submit one example of your work.
  4. If you do not receive a scholarship, but would still like to attend, indicate this on the application form. A place for you will be held until Friday 30 July, when full payment is required.
