Queensland Theatre Company’s Young Playwrights Program is Australia’s leading development program for young playwrights. Each year, up to four young playwrights are selected to participate in a three month writing residency which includes access to Company directors, actors, archives, library resources and industry partners. The residency culminates in a rehearsed reading of each playwright’s script and is presented at Queensland Theatre Company’s Bille Brown Studio.

In 2009, selected writers will receive:

  • script development and dramaturgical sessions
  • a rehearsed reading of each selected script by Company actors
  • tickets to Queensland Theatre Company productions
  • access to Company resources, industry networking events and more
